Frequency :With regular mechanical watch the beats per hour (vph) interpret into the frequency the seconds hand advances - giving the seconds hand the perception of smooth motion AKA "the sweep seconds hand". With the dead seconds complication the seconds hand jump every second (much like a quartz watch). This complication is achieved through am additional going-train driven by a second barrel. AP devised a system with two. superimposed seconds-wheels driven by a "differential", one is free and moves steadily forward at the rate of the VPH, while the other carries wolf's teeth and moves in jerks ¨C hence the jumping seconds.. Detached single-beat escapement: A single impulse corresponds to two vibrations, thus decreasing disturbance to the rate and promoting extremely high efficiency. . AP Caliber 2905, beats at 21,600 vph, contains 31 jewels, composed of 233 components & has an Power Reserve of 7 days. All parts decorated by hand beveled, rhodium-plated and decorated with Cotes de Geneva finish.. A/h

Audemars Piguet 26091or.oo.d803cr.01 wrist watches news:
F.P. Journe is one of the few modern watch manufactures that many serious collectors have any love for. Their watches are thoughtful, beautiful, wearable, and rare. Don't believe me, read this. That said, Journe watches have never exactly been auction house darlings – with modern pieces typically selling for a fraction of their current retail prices. That, of course, is no way to measure the success of a watch, but resale value is something that many collectors simply can't ignore – if you put money into something, you want to know you can get money out of it. This week, however, a few F.P. Journe pieces sold at auction well above what one might expect, and we are beginning to see that like special pieces from Lange, special Journe watches can also do quite well on the public market. I'm pretty diligent about registering my purchases with the respective manufacturers. I do this for two reasons, one is for warranty and the other is for recalls. I recently had a Dyson fan recalled for a fire hazard and it was replaced with no bother to me. So it was natural that I register my AP's. This afternoon, I saw a letter from AP in our mailbox. This cover letter came in an envelope and Third year warranty stickers for my watches were enclosed. This was unexpected and a great service.
Local person is selling this, 1944 Omega Automatic 18k. Anything I should be concerned with? Specifically, does the dial look authentic and period correct? Thanks so much for any help or advice provided!

Or any manual wind watch for that matter? This question occurs with astonishing and cyclically recurring frequency in internet watch forums. And this is even despite that most every forum offers a search function that could produce dozens of relevant threads that would dispatch the question neatly before it were even raised (again). The recurrence of questions like this is among the reasons forums ceased to be as much fun and I¡¯ve mostly retreated from watch fora, especially after once seeing threads posing this sam
