Cyrus Klepcys Watch
Newer brand, new watch. Cyrus debuted late last year but I never got a chance to really check them out as their timepieces reminded me of wrist-mounted doomsday devices. Their flagship watch is Klepcys (still trying to properly pronounce that one) and it is a formidable piece of unique horology. The master behind the mechanism is Jean-Francois Mojon. One of today's better watch makers who is known for (among other things), the Harry Winston Opus X.In addition to the standard Klepcys watch, Cyrus will be donating a special one to the Only Watch 2011 auction. Images of both are seen here, whereas the piece unique model for the action is in white gold with a red "11." The high-end piece is another attempt on "doing it differently." While I respect the mechanism and concept for some reason the design leaves me a inert. I feel as though I need more time with the watch to appreciate it fully. It does however move me much more than the brand's other watch called the Kuros. We will see what ha

Ya Gotta Luv the GREEN GRUNGE!
As I've mentioned, I've been busy cleaning out a bunch of old watches and parts that have been sitting around for over 20 years. A lot of these pieces are infected with the "GreenGrunge" illness and I've been trying to cure them.It seems that you begin to learn when things go awrykinda like a law of life or something. Anyway, I guess I'm dealing with verdigris and started reading up on it. The wood dowel on the metal pieces seems to make a great start (I think that's how my dad used to do it), a touch on the polishing wheel seems to clean up most of the residue and liquid polish takes it to much less obnoxious level.Is there a quicker "gentler" way for the cases? How about the movements where the creeping grunge has entered in through the case cracks and stem?Last, next to oxidation, nothing destroys a dial's appearance like the grunge. I was able to get it off an Elgin dial (see pix) that I tried as an experiment. However, it DID take some scrubbing and the only thing that saved

The battle within! An AP ROO RC or Millenary Black/Steel?
**NOTE** I TOOK THESE PICTURES OFF OF THE WEB AND THEY ARE NOT MINE!I have been debating this choice for about two weeks now and have not been able to pull the trigger on either one.I would use the RC much more then the Millenary but I absolutely love the Millenary even though it would be more of a business attire watch. Funds at this time do not allow myself to indulge in both as I just bought a FC not too long ago and must control the urge to buy them all.I can get either one for a great deal. BOTH USED COMPLETE!I found a gently used Millenary black/steel for 14k.I found a black on black ROO RC for 12k but would like the white dial over the black.I know everyone loves a nice ROO :) but I would love to hear from some of the Millenary owners here about what they like and dislike about the watch as I have not tried it on or seen it in person! A wrist shot is welcomed as well ;)What are your thoughts?
