Casio WV-59DE-1AVEF wrist watches news:
Previously on worn&wound we've discussed those watches or watch brands that manage to achieve superb design and quality in a surprisingly / unbelievably affordable price point.? Think Steinhart with their $400, ETA powered pieces, or the $200 Maratac Pilot with a quality automatic and sapphire crystal the size of your head. ?Having spent some time with the $338?Techn¨¦ GosHawk (and previously Sparrowhawk) I am beginning to think that Techn¨¦ deserves a place in that conversation.?The GosHawk pairs unique aviator styling and excellent craftsmanship with a quality Japanese automatic movement and superior components.Case: Bead Blasted Stainless SteelMovement: Miyota 8217 AutomaticDial: BlackLume: C3Lens: Sapphire with AR coatingStrap: “Saddle” Oiled LeatherWater Res.: 50mDimensions: 41.4mm x 48.7mmThickness: 12.5mmLug Width: 20mmCrown: Screw downWarranty: 1 YearCaseThe case of the GosHawk is simple and clean, matching an aesthetic seen throughout the watch. I'm looking at a Rotary watch with an eta 7701 movement. I've been reading a bit about this movement & it looks like is used by many other watch makers. Any opinions about Rotary watches?Thank you.
It's true that you pay a little more at the boutiques...but Honestly, you forget about the amount paid soon after you walk out the door...but, little gestures like this, and offers to go to a PGA event courtesy of the PGA's newest sponser make it so much more of an experience...These came in the mail with a little thank you / 'Thinking of you' note...[IMG][/IMG]I think Omega's future is very very bright...
I took my black SMP to a local watchmaker for servicing. He has worked on other watches I own and I think he does a good job.The watch looked good when I picked it up -- all the old scratches and nicks had been buffed out.But when I got it home I noticed that the polished ends on the center links were now satin. He'd buffed the whole bracelet, so the center link no longer had the contrasting polished sides.Overall the bracelet looks a better w/o the scratches and I usually wear it on a black rubber strap, so I'm not THAT bothered....BUT...I am kind of irritated. Don't you think he should have kept the original look of the watch?
Anyone by chance happen to know of a few good vintage PP dealers in Tokyo or Kyoto? I'll be traveling there soon and looking forward to the hunt. Thanks!
