Audemars Piguet BA 255889 wrist watches news:
Ferrari may have Hublot (and Movado?), but Maserati now has Bulgari.? The new Octo Maserati is really an impressive timepiece, featuring a jump-hour at 12 o'clock and a retrograde displays for the minutes, running seconds, chronograph minutes, and date.? What makes this watch interesting is that instead of opting for aggressive Maserati branding on the dial, you won't see the name anywhere on front of the watch.? Instead, the retrograde displays are styled in Maserati-like way.? The limited edition does feature the Maserati trident on the caseback, but in the world of luxury automobile-themed timepieces, that's about as understated as you're going to get.? oops! Can't copy and paste pictures from another thread, huh? Well I loaded the pics again. I ordered these watches on 7/15 and yesterday, 7/19/14, they arrived! Cleared customs in 1 day, unbelievable! IT was a fun afternoon. The Chronograph has a busy face and glasses are needed to read (for me anyway) It came on a leather band with a spare rubber strap. I changed to the rubber right away, too sweaty in summer for leather. The white face is plain, easy to read, and very light on the wrist. I think I like it the best.
I took the stem and crown out successfully from my quartz watch movement to take the dial out to replace a loose marker. Now I put the watch back in and stuck the crown and stem back in and the watch isn't ticking. Any ideas what's wrong with it?
from jewelrysuite101:The care taken in finishing the parts of a watch movement is manifold in purpose: aesthetically, the various brushing and chamfering techniques provide different patterns, textures and levels of reflective light; pragmatically, the finish is far less likely to corrode than it would be if left untreated; and abstractly, taking such an extreme degree of care in crafting parts that will never be seen is a reflection of the pride of artisanship, and it contributes to the ongoing sense of freemasonry among the artisans.
