Over the past few months we here at worn&wound have featured a number of watch brand hopefuls who were using some form of crowdfunding in an effort to get themselves off the ground. This format for funding a project has exploded in the past couple of years and it is a great fit for watches projects. They target the audience that wants the product and if there is enough response, it gets made. Hopefully. Gevril 4108 - all i can find are fakes to compare to. How do i tell if its real??

This is a great forum and i've gotten a ton of good information here on other pieces before. Now, I have a guy that wants to trade me a Gevril GV2 4108 for my DSLR camera (worth about $400 or so) . He sent me pictures of it and it, says its real, has "papers" and original box...but i'm still skeptical because of the price difference. Looks like the watch is real from the (limited) pictures i could find, but wanted to know if there are any tell tale signs. He says he's a watch collector for 16 years and it's time to thin out his collection. He's willing to meet me in person, which is good, but i want to be prepared when we do meet so i can KNOW if it's real or fake. Was thinking of weighing it compared to a real one? That ever work? Tag Heuer Grand Carrera - First personal impressions
Ok, I was at my AD on other business the other night, and he mentioned he finally got the Tag Heuer Grand Carrera's in stock. Not in the market to buy one, but I was very interested in seeing how they looked - especially after all the hype Tag seems to have drummed up over it. He had about 6 or so variations of the model. The Grand Carrera has a Tag Heuer in-house movement. One of the differences between a Grand Carrera & standard chrono is the actual subdial itself rotates, instead of the pointer. This seemed to be a bit hard to get used to the first few times I played with the chrono function, but after a few times it actually seemed like it would be easier to read at a glance than a standard chrono. Reason is the number you see in the subdial is the number you want.Ascetically it was quite pleasing & I was honestly pleasantly surprised. Strap and bracelet on Diver
Quick question, I just changed my std rubber strap for the short one by removing the small screws (the ones on the rubber band). To change it for the bracelet, do I remove the large screws (the ones on the case)? It would remove the stock center pieces right?
