I was loving this watch so much lately that I had to give it more love. It won my 5 quartz watch battle with a fantastic performance of 0+- sec in 20 days. That is impressive - even for a quartz watch.I bought this watch a few months ago because I loved its grandfather so much - a 1970 version that still 'runs like a watch!'I don't know why I wanted the gold so much. I think I was on a gold kick there for a bit. But with the fake gold bracelet it came with, it was too much.The other thing I didn't care for was that the secondhand was invisible.The first thing I did was replace the mineral glass with sapphire.And then today I did two things. I painted the secondhand orange. It's wild, it's different, and it may not have class, but I like it much better now and think it looks fine.Secondly, I bought a very heavy, quality made Seiko original SS bracelet. Same old decision question
I am sure everyone is tired of these threads but I need some help making a decision. I am looking for a new watch in the $2,500 range and am between a Omega Seamaster and Breitling something in the aeromarine collection colt, superocean, so steelfish. I have read all the reviews between the two that I can find but still need help being put in the right direction. I like Breitling because they are still independent (as far as I know) and I like the styling a little more (i like shiny objects). The seamaster has always been my grail watch but know that im getting close to having all the cash I am getting cold feet. I am going to the AD today that sells both and try them side by side. So from the experts that own a Breitling and maybe own Omega also would you make the same choice again and why.

O ring part of service or an extra?
I gave my watch to a local jeweler who said it would be cleaned,lubricated scratches removed etc. We agreed on a price ($300) which is cheaper than his normal rate on the premise if I was satisfied with his work I would give him another watch to do the same. He calls yesterday and say the watch needs an Oring which is $75. He said its a genuine omega part. He also said there was an alternate for like $20. Is this the normal pricing for an Oring or is does something sound askew?

5165 buy or not?
Hi all, I would like to know what you think about the 5165? Is there a big difference between the 315/293 Caliber and the 324? I think that the 5165 movement is not in-house while the 324 is, can someone tell me where the 315/293 came from if not from Patek and is it a good movement, were there issues with it?Since I will be living in Thailand soon and want a daily beater for sports and swimming do you think it's ok? Can't seem to find the WR on it, one site says 70m, another 100m, does anyone know?I am interested in it because I like the fact that it's not made anymore, there are only 2 on chrono 24, the fact that it's 2mm less doesn't really bother me, I will go see one this week in Paris and see how it fits, it's from 2008 and has been serviced and polished by Patek, so it should look like new, the price is 13.200 but I should be able to get for a little less.Basically I don't care about retaining value as if I get one I probably would keep it a very long time as a daily beater, goi
