Sea-God Dive Watches
As I discussed on the HourTime Show watch podcast, the term "Sea God" for a dive watch brand sits somewhere between clever and obnoxious. The new Italian brand is an enthusiastic yet unabashed jab are Rolex. From the sharp visual resemblance with Rolex's dive watches to the almost satirical text on the dial of "Superlative Design" - this fashion function line of diver still seems to satisfy.The name Sea-God evokes an almost deistic quality in the watch (well literally speaking it does). To proclaim a watch as god of the sea is a bold yet empty statement. Even the name of this brand is perhaps an unintended comment on how high-end hyperbole has run amok. The name is so silly we end up taking it seriously. As though it is a very well executed joke. My new watch came yesterday: the beautiful Orange Monster...I won't go into technical details because I think most of you already know the specs and movement of this watch. You better take a look at the whole process of unpacking the watch, sizing the bracelet and some other fancy pics as well:The box was sent by the seller from Caracas.Let's begin...This box seems a little old, and it's bigger than the one that came with my Black Monster.Indeed, the box IS old, even the Seiko logo seems out-dated.I don't care about the box anymore once I opened it and saw this beauty... The watch is completely new, by the way.The box has a hidden compartment on the bottom, which serves to keep the manual and certificate in place. That's a nice detail, IMO.Here's the whole package: watch, box, manual, warranty and certificate.Here's the famous blue sticker. It was removed after taking that pic.Ok. incoming vintage Aquastar
Got this in the mail today. 34mm x 43mm x 19mm Jean Richard Aquastar Standard 10 ATM.Cleaned and tidy'd up the case, polished the (wrong) crystal until I can get the thick diver's installed in a few days.Installed this weathered nylon that seems to help out many oldies that I get, so it's never found a permanent home!I actually like the condition of the dial; plenty of....."character".The caseback is pretty good; these are easy to beat up with a universal wrench.What do you think?

Grandpa's Watch...Omega *pics*
I was lucky enough for my Grandpa to give me one of his watches as a present earlier this year. I know nothing about watches honestly, but have heard Omega is one of the nice brands out there. I'd love to know some history on the watch, and if I can find out what year it was made that would be great. My Dad just had it polished and cleaned up a little for me for Christmas so it's looking pretty nice Also, how would I find out the value of the watch? I would never sell it, but I'd like to know the value.Thanks guys/gals!

New GMT, Can the bracelet be swapped?
Does anyone know or think the bracelet can be changed to the BLNR bracelet on the new GMT? I know there are many Jubille lovers, but it's just not for meCheers
