I know that most high-end watches are hand assembled, but I֪ not sure just how much of the watch is actually handmade anymore. I֪ more familiar with Rolex so I was wondering what portion of AP's are handmade and hand finished?I would assume that the specialty pieces are more apt to be handmade but I֪ mainly concerned with the vanilla models that AP offers.

Black Bay vs PO 8500
I am having a heck of a time trying to decide what my next purchase is going to be. I think I have it narrowed down to a Blue Tudor Black Bay and a Omega Planet Ocean 8500 (both pre-owned). My current collection is as follows:Rolex Sub CBreitling Avenger SeawolfOmega Speedmaster ProBreitling NavitimerOmega Planet Ocean 2500Current grails would be Rolex Exp II 42mm & GMT II BLNR (but those are little out of my price range at the moment)I originally wanted the Black Bay on the fabric strap because I thought it would be different from my other watches. However, I know that I didn't love the snowflake hands at first sight. I think I have somewhat convinced myself to like the Black Bay . However, every time I see pictures of the new 8500 PO, I think Now THAT is a good looking watch. I am torn, though, because I know how similar the 8500 is to the 2500, and in fact people prefer the 2500 for certain reasons. Fake Patek on eBay
I normally don't worry about the plethora of fakes on ebay... I will however make an exception for this one as it appears to be fooling many punters..ebay.au/itm/400995053...617&rmvSB=trueI haven't wasted my time checking the numbers with the manufacturer as I am sure its crap... they are reasonably convincing to most.Beware of complicated vintage pateks.... they have been reproducing them in china for some time now.... $4500us to convert a Valjoux 23 into a Patek 130..... about 10k for a complete watch.....the newer versions are even more convincing...Be careful.

Air King 116900 and Basel ?
Have been thinking about picking up an Air King in the next couple of weeks. While I have read a lot of prognostications about upcoming Rolex changes/discontinuations here and elsewhere, there is not too much about this model, maybe due to its price point. Since it seems like a lot of Rolex traditionalists don't have mad love for this model, or regard it as kind of a meh due to the dial, (I personally like it), I am wondering if members feel Rolex may respond by modifying or discontinuing this particular version come Basel in March. What are your thoughts?
