Audemars Piguet Audemars Piguet 49257 wrist watches news:
I have a 1942 IWC, but i am unsure of the model. It measures 42 mm in diameter, and the IWC factory confirmed authenticy. Can anyone let me know the model and caliber? Any information would be much appreciated, Thanks!
Tonight I am wearing my Planet Ocean.I was looking at my collection and spotted this and decided to wear it on the other wrist to give it some much needed attention. The Fendi is really a handsome timepiece with an ETA 2824 and a screw down crown (though only rated for a 50m W/R)In comparing the look of these two watches I began to think about what a watch is or should be.Should a watch compliment the wrist, dominate the wrist, or just be an instrument for telling time in a way that is asthetically pleasing to the wearer? The Fendi is only(?) 36 mm in diameter and that is plenty big to see and tell the time (it worked for wrists of all sizes for many years with no complaints)The Planet Ocean is ,at 45 mm, much larger and is a wrist "dominator" but seems to make sense since it is a "dive" style watch and a diver needs to have a mega readable watch. The only watches I see as really having a purpose for being BIG are divers and pilot watches. At what point do watches become attention grabbers?
The Speedmaster Hesalite (acrylic) crystal has a tiny Omega logo Ω on it, right in the very center. Look closely and you can see it.

I have really been Lucky this last year or so with the watches I've managed to get my hands on, in brexit torn UK especially.I've cultivated a passion really of just a few brands and a couple of models within those brands. The passion is intentionally moderated by what is my taste aesthetically and also what is justified financially (and then perhaps just a tweak further - it is passion after all, and we only live once).I've made regrettable mistakes along the way, bought things I didn't like enough, Lost money and most annoying of all - sold some pieces at the wrong time and really taken a bath at times (as my American friends say)...But also I've picked up some real beauties too. Had the please of handling, owning and loving - some of the watches we all drool over on this site. Its a special feeling to be one of the lucky ones who was able to acquire a rare bear... Occasionally, I've even flipped at the right time - never really made money - but have compensated myself for the
