Audemars Piguet 77306BC.ZZ.D007SU.01 wrist watches news:
My minute repeater is currently at Patek Philippe. In a few weeks they'll tell me how much it will cost to get it working. The movement needs a complete cleaning, something I definitely want done. I can't wait to hear the chimes for the first time. Another problem is a scratch on the dial. My photos aren't great, but the scratch is fairly obvious. It starts at the "3" and crosses down to the subdial. Unlike hairline cracks the scratch is much wider. I'd like some opinions on dial repair of this type done by Patek. Since the watch is an antique, the repairs will be done in Geneva. I never intend to sell it, but I'll bequeath it to an heir. Personally, I'd like to see the dial repaired. However, I don't want to do something that could adversely affect the value of the watch. The other photo shows an engraving of "1886" on the back case. It was made in 1884, but purchased in 1886.Watch 1.jpgWatch 2.jpg
Hi new here the serial numbers are 3108-1 then 569 below that just wanted to know the year can't find it anywhere your help is greatly appreciated.
I have watches because I want to wear them, and I am trying to get a watch to go with most sorts of scenarios and activities. I thought that I might turn this into a bit of a discussion with everyone to see where it takes us.2 and ONLY 2 answers to be provided: what watch you currently have in your collection that you would wear for that activity, and what watch you could reasonably expect to own at some stage (so I don't expect to see the Patek Philippe Sky Moon Tourbillon turn up too much!)So, my first scenario is this: what watch would you wear on an extended traveling trip, and by this I mean for over a week and to different places doing different things, not necessarily 5 star style accommodation with a safe in the room. A bit more adventurous and off the beaten track, but not exactly backpacking either (if you get my drift). And you can take only 1 watch! The watch I would take at the moment is my Seiko Black Monster:It is a great general purpose watch. It can take a beating, it l
I have been really really really struggling with not buying a watch, I told myself I was going to wait and enjoy my grand diver........and for the most part I do and I have, but I was cruising the internet and found this really appealing "Panerai" homage, it's got a great movement in it, looks good, and I think it would get some decent wrist time. What are your thoughts? I was thinking about maybe getting it on a stainless steel bracelet
Hi, I'm from DC, and I just inherited a vintage Air-King.Was curious if I could get some advice on the best and/or most cost-effective way to repair said Air-King.I haven't yet removed the band to see the serial number and other information, but it looks to be a 70s or 80s Air-King, with a severely scratched and cracked crystal, and very worn and scratched band. The watch still ticks, but is slower than it should be. I plan on getting the watch repaired fully, but I'm unsure if it is worth going the Rolex certified route when considering the likely value of the watch itself.Watch holds sentimental value, as it was my late grandfather's, given to him by my late grandmother.
