Ebel 1215288, 9980g31/9970 wrist watches news:
A temperature gauge isn’t usually the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of high-end mechanical watches. It’s a complication relegated to digital fare and the screens of our phones. With the Trainmaster Kelvin, Ball brings the temperature readout back into mechanical territory, incorporating it into a heritage design complete with Swiss movement. The watch, so named for Irish Physicist and engineer Lord Kelvin, is meant to honor his work in absolute temperatures, but how well does it hold up as formal wear? We spent a week with the Trainmaster Kelvin in 18k gold to find out. 1 OF 31 Introduction Ball Watch may be unfamiliar to some readers, but their dramatic origins will shed some useful light on the “Official Standard” and “RR” signage as used throughout their current model range. Hi!I like photography, chess (but I suck at it) and watches. This is IMHO the best looking TT watch out there, and the only one I have liked enough to consider purchasing. Or do you have any other suggestions?Kindly/john
2 pic of vostok with map.jpgVostok with map.jpgI found this Vostok Komandirskie at a large antiques fair last month, but passed it up. This month it was still there so I grabbed it, as it is the "sister" watch (his is chrome, mine is nitride finish) for one I purchased for my son a short while back. Identical dials, case and bezel styles, as well as condition, which is good to excellent. No wear through or corrosion evident on either case, which is nice. Mine came with an inexpensive, but adequate rubber strap, which I just changed out for an interesting 2 pc Zulu strap with several colors I thought might look good on the gold nitride case. I haven't had a chance to measure timekeeping on this watch yet, as my wife's gonna snag it back and put it up as a Christmas gift for me. Seems to be working well with what little time I was able to check. Movement is the 17 jeweled, mechanical 2414. Eric
