Audemars Piguet 15340ST wrist watches news:
Here's the story: My grandad died back in 1994, during the last few years of his life, he went a little crazy with old age (actually he was always a little crazy, in a good way that is :) and became a hoarder. His house became filled to the brim, mostly with trash and junk. He had so much stuff it was impossible to sort threw it all, but we kept several boxes of his letters and personal items. Now just the other day I was going threw one of these boxes when I came across several watches, all in bad shape missing bands and whatnot. One of these watches happened to be an Omega Ranchero, now I dont know jack about watches except how to read the time and that Omega is a respectable company. I gave it a crank and it started ticking away and keeping perfect time.I take this watch to a local repair shop to have it inspected and a band put on it, as I plan to wear it. The guy (who was a total A-hole) said that the watch wasnt worth much because the dial was somewhat faded and showing its age.
I posted in the General Form, but i thought i'd post some pic's here too!! My 1st Omega an SMP 2531.80
I stopped off at the watch shop in my local mall yesterday to see if anything interesting had shown up in the pre-owned section. To my surprise I discovered that the shop was now carrying new Hamiltons. They had a nice selection of Classics and Khakis. I tried on a Mechanical Officer's watch with leather strap. It looked and felt nice on my wrist. I asked if they discount and the answer was no. I suppose it is a mixed blessing. At full retail I can resist the temptation.
I'm in the Bahamas and the dealer here offered 20% off the $795 retail price making it $636. Opinions?
It's some sort of social gathering for watch people, I'm sure. What do the acronyms represent?LOL
