Benrus 40's - 50's 'Shock Absorber' with two tone dial...
I picked up this Benrus 'Shock Absorber' two tone dial. I believe it is from late 1940's to early 1950's. I found it is hard to find information on Bernus. The serial number on case back is 269924 and movement model is BH 14.The watch has a pull away front and back case with a press on crystal that presses onto the back case. It also has a split stem so that the movement can be removed from the back case.The cases and crystal had many scratches and a lot of grim and dirt. The dial and movement were in excellent condition. I put this in the American forum for lack of knowing where it was made. Got it for free, just put an LR44 battery in it and it runs though about 5 mins slow a day. case, dial and crystal are clean with no scratches. Were these watches dogs, cheap or what. The don't seem to garner any kind of money on ebay, like $10-20.00. Any info on this would be helpful.

SMP "Speedy" bracelet vs. Speedmaster "Speedy" bracelet
Over the years, Omega has offered the Seamaster Professional with two bracelet options: The basket weave Bond or the Speedy styled bracelet.Someone on another forum asked why the Speedy Pro (3570.50) bracelet seemed lighter than his SMP Speedy bracelet. FYI, here is the answer I shared.The only difference between the two bracelets is the clasp.Top view:Side views with the SMP on top:Side by side with SMP in the forefront:The design of the SMP bracelet makes it heavier. Note that the SMP clasp is longer and contains a diver expansion; i.e., more steel; ergo, more weight.As most of your know, I do not care for the ref. 1998 Speedy Pro bracelet due to the extreme arc of the clasp. The SMP clasp is flatter and wears more comfortably on my wrist.I also prefer the SMP Speedy bracelet over the Bond. I prefer the fit and taper of the Speedy. And over time the Bond links wear and become unsightly. The Speedy links are more easily maintained.
