Audemars Piguet 15202ST.OO.0944ST.02 wrist watches news:
Ask and you shall receive – I bring you the Rolex Air-King! This year at Baselworld we have seen the new Daytona, the Explorer, the Datejust 41, and now the Air-King. This puppy has a ton of new features and has a relatively good price (for a Rolex). 1 OF 3 The Air-King is one of the most well-known (and widely missed) Rolex models. Initially released in 1945 (along with the Datejust), this model (like every Rolex model) has seen several modifications over the decades, and this year is no different. 2 OF 3 The new Air-King comes in a 40 mm 904L stainless-steel Oyster case. The shiny black dial features the 3-6-9 hour configuration (à la the Explorer) and the minute indication on the fives. ADVERTISEMENT And the best part? The dial bears the name "Air-King" in the same script as the ones from the 1950s. Additionally, this watch is powered by the automatic caliber 3131 movement and is also a certified
I am considering my first German watch. So far, I like 2 options from NOMOS and 1 or 2 from Muhle. The NOMOS offerings seem more unique, and have the (sorta, kinda) benefit of being manufacture movements. They are also pretty reasonable. OTOH, Muhle watches are nicely-done, and have a great rep for accuracy. Since they use nicely modified 7750's in the chronos, it seems likely that they'd be fairly easy to have serviced, should they need work or whatever. I am leaning towards the NOMOS, but I wonder if you think that it'd be a better idea to buy a watch with a really bullet-proof motor. Is this sufficiently important to even being considered when it's time to buy?
For the vintage-minded out there: google has a neat patent search. You can input the patent # and up comes the original overview, patent drawings, etc. A great tool for reference and killing time. You can find it by google-ing "google patent"
I can pick up a new 5130g world time for ?24500. Is this a good deal or not I don't want to throw away ?4500 down the drain literally regardless of any discounted price if the used market price or trade price is only ?20,000.
