How to tell if a watch is truly a diver's watch
How can one tell if a watch has been tested according to ISO 6425 (dive spec) vs ISO 2281 (recreational spec). According to wikipedia the word divers denotes dive spec, and water resistant denotes recreational spec. However many watches omit any words from the dial and just state a depth, and some watches which are dive spec use the words water resistant, at least in the website descriptions, such as the omega 2231.50.00. I would have expected that if a watch was certified the manufacturer would see fit to brag about passing standards. So my questions are, is a list of tested watches maintained? is there something else that I should be looking for when looking at watches?

An Introduction and an Appreciation
Gentlemen I¡¯ve been on TRF for a while now (when I did not own a Rolex) and was initially rather intimidated by the passion and knowledge that a lot of you have. The technical and non-technical discussions, made me realise there¡¯s an entire ecosystem here. I¡¯ve been wearing a Tag Carrera for about 3 years now and was (and am) really happy with it. But even before, I¡¯d always had this itch for a Rolex. Every 6 months roughly, I¡¯d visit (my now) AD who was super patient with me. I turned 30 a few months ago and something went off in my head. I¡¯d been looking at the BLNR for a long while and had made up my mind. A confluence of circumstance made me think that now was the time. When I went down to my AD though, he also showed me the GMT Master II 116710LN. I¡¯ve heard that a watch must speak to you. And the LN sang to me.
