.........so when my Magrette Bronze arrived with a strap that was excellent in all respects except for color, I knew I needed to find the butter soft Magrette strap a new home. The candidate I chose was my Artego 300M. It came originally with the largest bracelet I have in my collection. Combined with the massive case it was almost too much for my puny wrist to handle. After quite a struggle to remove the Artego bracelet, ( a common problem ) the Magrette strap fitted with no problems. I am very pleased with the result. The new strap transforms the look and feel of the watch, and makes it a much more wearable combination.BeforeAfter
I had the chance to see this watch. It's amazing. I always loved the 5070 and I can tell you that this one in Platinum is the most beautifull watch I've ever seen.I don't know how many of those will be made not enough :) :) :)Anyway, I won't forget this watch pretty soon. I'm glad I had the chance to see it IRL
Titanium is one of the most prolific elements on Earth, but extruding it from its basic ore is an expensive and time consuming effort. A processing method developed in the 1930's by Wilhelm Kroll spawned the use of the metal in the 1950's. Since titanium is almost 50% lighter and about 30% stronger than steel it became a natural choice for the aerospace industry. An added bonus is it's superior corrosion & heat resistance. The marine industry also uses titanium; the Navy builds submarines & propellers from it along with engine parts & shafts. When exposed to air it oxidizes like other metals. The difference is it doesn't rust - it forms a protective surface shield which makes it immune to salt water corrosion. This fact didn't go unnoticed by manufacturers since it makes a great material for dive watches. IWC pioneered the use of titanium in the 1970's, and the success of the Porsche Design Chronograph was a big part of the positive turnaround by the company. In 1984 they f
