Bulgari acquired Daniel Roth & Gerald Genta
Daniel Roth - one of the respected watch houses of Switzerland was acquired together with Gerald Genta (a brand that carries the name of its famous founder - who has since moved on to other brands) by the fashion house Bulgari. In what appears to industry watchers as a move to bring greater credibility in horology to Bulgari, the fashion house will take control of the hardware resources including watch making and service equipment. While Bulgari has started absorbing much of the DR & GG operations into its watch arm - it appears that the DR & GG name will continue on albeit under the brand name of Bulgari. New watches from the DR or GG will show its name in smaller font size under Bulgari on the dials. Its disappointing and disheartening to see the end of two renowned brands but one cannot be totally surprised for reasons of how the financial crisis has hit many brands. Does anyone know how many Jumbo's are actually made so far or each year?
Curious to know if any of you guys have heard the production numbers or relative numbers per year. I have heard anywhere from 100 to 200 produced in total so far. Can anyone verify this info?

Advice needed with Omega PO
Over the last several months I've acquired several timepieces with the most recent being an Omega PO (orange number dial and rubber strap with orange stitching). My dilemma is I've fallen out of love with it. I admire the quality of construction and the co-axial movement and from a objective point of view the time piece is hard to fault. But it just doesn't stirr my emotions. My AD has a pre-loved Cartier Santos 100 XL (non chrono) for sale and I really like it. Would I be making a mistake by selling the Omega for the Cartier??I have been visiting this site for months now and find it rather addictive. There are a lot of knowledgeable members on this site which makes it even more interesting. JJ has over 49k posts !!! with a few other members not far behind.
