Breaking News: Harry Winston Is Acquired By The Swatch Group (Plus Some Things To Consider)
While there have been rumors that famed NY-based jeweler and watchmaker Harry Winston was in "sell-mode" for a while, we don't think anyone expected this.? In news coming from both side of the equation today, 100% of the Harry Winston company has been acquired by none other than the owner of Omega, Breguet, Hamilton, and like a zillion other watch brands, the Swatch Group.This marks a decided change for Winston, who was for a long time completely independent and privately held, and most recently, publicly traded but essentially independent.? To be fully acquired by a large conglomerate will mean a lot of changes to Winston, and we'll be anxious to see how this plays out.Here are some things to consider in this deal, from our perspective:- Harry Winston is considered the only true "high-luxury" brand remaining in America.? Help - looking at 3445 as first Patek
All: thank you so much in advance. Been looking at a 3445 Calatrava that has sat with a vintage dealer for over one year. (anybody know Swiss Watch Expo?). What can I do to avoid making a mistake here? I.e., should I expect this watch to keep perfect time or will performance degrade over decades? Can it be reconditioned to run perfectly and by whom? And how do I have it checked to make sure it's real? (The dealer sells a lot of Pateks but I'm still cautious). Thanks!

My new Rolex Sub has fine scratches on crystal..any advice?
Hello guys.I need you guys advice.I just bought a brand new Rolex Sub no date two days ago from my local Rolex AD. However, what I have found is there are so many fine tiny hairline scratches on the crystal. The scratches are only visible when the sunlight is directly at certain angle. I never scrub or bang the crystal. This Sub is my third Rolex but the two old my Rolex watches (2013 Sub no-date and 2015 Sub date) had the same issue. I thought I made the scratches by some reasons due to I owned them a few years. But now I certainly realized it was not me.Like I said, it is very clean and clear in normal but when the sunlight or bright lights at certain angle, the fine scratches will be shown. I have a few Panerai, Tudor, and Omega watches but I will definitely say they don't have any kind of the fine hairline scratches on the crystal. I have checked all of them with the same angle under the sunlight that I did on my Rolex. Is the hairline fine scratches on the crystal common thing on
