Greetings TRF,I had a little bit of fun tonight with my camera and light box and I thought it would be the perfect time to share with you some pictures of what makes my new (to me) AP work...We start off with the complete watch sans bracelet...Given that it's an old gold watch, scratches and dings are all over the place but it's okay, that's why I collect what I collect...The caseback is quite easy to take off but the popping sound it makes still reminds you that it will always keep the movement safe! And here it is! For those of you who didn't see my incoming thread, this movement is the Audemars Piguet caliber 2003, a small two hands movement developped by Jaeger-Lecoultre who has been sold to AP from 1953 to 2002 (if memory serves), they would then adjust it and finish it (if I'm not mistaken, I know the adjustments are done by them but I can't fully remember if they took care of the perlage and c?tes de Gen¨¨ve). Well after much debate and vacillating back and forth, I FINALLY made the plunge and purchased a BNIB Omega PO 600m 42mm from a Trusted Seller here on the forum. I got it at a great price and traded in one of my Breitling to offset some of the pain.It bares mentioning, I was really concerned with the case thickness as everyone is well aware of, so it does not bare repeating. But I have to say that the main decisions for pulling the plug were two-fold. First, it was increasingly hard to find a well cared for previous model 2500-series PO, especially a 2500D model (just to obtain a thinner case size). And the more important factor was getting into a new timepiece with the newest 8500 movement. Obviously things like a ceramic bezel and improved bracelet didn't hurt the decision making either.Sooooooo......to that end, I am in day two of ownership and things are looking & feeling great. Dear friends,I only found out a few minutes ago, while visiting over at TZ...Oh what sad news... dear Chuck Maddox, amongst many many many things a source of endless inspiration, has passed away...Sincerest condolences to his family and his friends...There are many fellow readers (here and elsewhere) who knew him far better, but - lacking better words while still in shock - I hope I'll be forgiven if I repeat my simple and sad note I just posted over at TZ, as better words don't seem to come to me right now...Chuck, everything I came to know about this wonderful hobby I owe to you! It was through your restless and wonderful work that the world of this hobby came alive at first and then opened up to me! Through your articles and the few email exchanges shared, my own curiosity was pushed to the limits.
