On May 9 and 10 Antiquorum will auction over 300 watches and clocks at the Grand Hotel Kempinski in Geneva. The highlight of the sale is a Patek Philippe Ref. 1436, stainless steel split-seconds chronograph, pictured below. This piece is one of four known examples of which three survived, and one of only two first generation watches known to exist. This timepiece was produced in 1945 and sold on May 11, 1949. It is the first time ever that this watch will be offered at auction. The pre-sale estimate is SFr. 600,000 to 800,000. Also to be offered is a Patek Philippe Tiffany split-seconds wristwatch produced in 1928 and sold on September 23, 1938. This 18K yellow gold wristwatch features a single-button split-seconds chronograph, vertical 30-minute register, constant seconds, and mobile lugs. The pre-sale estimate is SFr. 800,000 to 1,200,000.Another significant timepiece included in this sale is a Patek Philippe Ref. 5016 P with a unique dial. This watch was originally sold on November
GentlemenI've been seriously thinking about changing my priorities and buying a cheap n cheerfull diver for beach wear etc and using my cash for a nice chrono.Yes I do mean a speedy! or at least I'm thinking about itHowever my initial issues regarding hesalite remain, although I'm past the manual wind and date thingy nowI really like the idea of the Co Axial 50th LE 311.33.42.50.01.001 as it offers better WR AND has a sapphire glassHowever I've a feeling that I'll be shocked at the rrpWhat is it's rrp by the way?If I can't afford that I may consider either the other 50th LE 311.30.42.30.01.001 with the 1861 cal or the 3573.50 "Sapphire sandwich".They are all great watches but my preference would be the 50th Co Axial as it offers 3 features that matter more to me than the history part, a better (100m) WR, the Co Axial movement and a sapphire glass. The other 2 have the sapphire glass but not my perffered WR rating.Any opinions please but bear in mind the whole "Moon landing" thingy is no

Hi all... while I am gathering some fund, I'm just wondering what people think of BNIB diver vs used ROO panda if they are offered at a similar price range.... any comments are highly appreciated... thank you...
Greetings TRF,The title pretty much says it all, I've been looking at Chronostop's for a little while now and was wondering what could be said about them. Fear not, I'm not going to ask you if I should go for it or the price I should pay for one...I have been thinking about a stainless steel chronograph for some time and a single pusher model would always be interesting to me, surely it would stand out in a collection (especially given the fact that all the chronograph's I've owned thus far were regular two pushers models). I know its dial is very simple and perhaps not very convenient given the complication it has but I really like it (whether we're talking about the regular one or the driver one). I know some come with tachymeters or diving bezels but the very simple one is the one I happened to see more. What I want to know is if anybody has some information on the model itself. In my research I've found out that they were designed and made for a younger generation of enthusiasts bac
