- The face of the watch is very clear . . . large numbers that are easy to read. Style is very similar to the previous watch I wore. I like it very much. . . simple and elegant.

Ulysse Nardin has announced that its CEO, Rolf W. Schnyder, unexpectedly passed away on April 14 after a short illness. Schnyder¡¯s vision. ¡°With the passing of Rolf W. Schnyder, the watchmaking industry has lost one of its greatest visionaries, while Ulysse Nardin has lost an important source of innovation for the firm. We are profoundly moved and distraught at this sudden loss. Our full sympathies are with his wife and his three children, to whom we would like to express our sincere condolences,¡± said Susanne Hurni, press officer and head of media relations at Ulysse Nardin.Rolf W. Hello all, novice watch tinkerer here.I'm servicing my grandfather's old Hamilton Lester (982 movement) and I'd like to replace the mainspring. My research shows that the 982 used a 14/0 size mainspring.I see several old mainsprings for sale in various places....just wondering if a more modern alloy spring is available in this size, and would that be a better route to take?I appreciate any help or tips you may wish to share.Thank you,Greg
I'm curious what all of your paths to owning AP were. Mine were kind of backwards, as I had met a certain gentleman with extreme knowledge of swiss watches, and I am a specialist in another type of craftsmanship, antique Japanese swords and consult on behalf of collectors. We discussed the similarities between the two (differences being obvious, as one was meant to kill, and one was meant to find out how much time you had to kill) and I learned at the time about there existing a whole other world of swiss watches other than Rolex.Anyway this discussion inserted AP into my brain as something I'd have one day if I ever owned a fine timepiece (last item was some watch I found at 10 years old with a highly luminous digital dial... the kind that ... kills you I guess!). I lost it. And I have a Seiko given to me by my staff that went into a drawer of keepsakes and was never worn. Finally bought my ROO this year after finding the forum here and bouncing some questions around. And here I am.How
There are still several models I really like, but I prefer PM bands; the Nautilus 5980 is at the top of the list. Any comments or experience with this model. I currently have the 5146 with YG band.
