This watch has been handed down in the family and I'm interested in any infomation anyone may have. I know that Hamilton picked up production of Illinois in 1927 but that's about all the info I have. Any help would be greatly appreciated. All the best.SteveHere's the back and workings info:the back cover586183workings6/0 114K Solidarity585/1000Reg # 5064911
Hey, guys,Here's a different twist on leather straps. There is a limited number of choices with leather watch straps. Once you get past the dye color, the stitch color and type of animal (cow, crocodile, alligator, ostrich, etc.), you've pretty much exhausted your palate. Of course, there's "vintage" straps from old ammo pouches, etc., but I'm talking about the choice of "texture" imparted by different animal hides, grains, etc.Especially if we're worried about "sustainability" (which I'm not hugely worried about) or the cost of harvesting the raw materials, cow hide is something that's not ever going to be in short supply. It's a byproduct of food production, so it's relatively plentiful and inexpensive.I decided to try my hand at carving leather (to include, eventually, landscapes, etc.) and the easiest starting point, for novices, is to use leatherworkers' "stamps," which are inexpensive and easy to come by. Stamping leather imparts interesting texture kinda like 'gator hide straps
Hi just got this new oris t33 its the caron fiber face with the red accents. Anyways i love the watch.. But i dont know if i didnt notice it when i first got it but the noise seems to make alot of noise.. its almost sound like its grinding. Also when i take it off my wrist i tap the see threw glass i feel like it sounds like parts are loose.. im sure it isnt cuz obv. its been very accurate. I just want to know if this is normal. Im scared cuz the watch is like 2 weeks old.. and it just seems like it makes way too much noise.,
