- I got the watch and haven't taken it off! It is elegant, and sturdy and just what I wanted. NOTE: The bracelet/band is ger than my wrist so I had a jeweler take out a few links. It IS a bracelet and a watch, I LOVE IT.

Audemars Piguet 25863TI.OO.A001CU.01 wrist watches news:
I set my PO to gov't time and checked it a few days later, it was + 2 seconds, 7 days after setting it was spot on (April 1) now on April 5 it is +10 seconds from the original setting. I am assuming the watch gains or loses depending whether it is on my wrist or the winder. It is worn everyother day in rotation with my Sub. Also, the PO was purchased on March 5, so it is one month old today, so it may settle in, although I am very well pleased with its accuracy as is.
To begin, I have always admired anything mechanical. While I am not mechanically inclined, I have always enjoyed the artwork and the craftsmanship of things like buildings, motorcycles, everything. There as always been something that made watches appealing to me. I remember when I was 12 I wanted a clear watch so I could see the movement and it was different than all of the other watches my peers had.Fast forward twenty years and now I am back into looking for watches. I know the world of watches is so large, I have no idea where to begin. I know select brand names, but I want something that I am not likely to see. I am a teacher so I need a watch that has clean lines and a parent is not going to look at me and think I am over paid. I have a budget of $700-$800. I have had a recommendation of Lum Tec, and their watches are very beautiful. Furthermore, I am very excited to know that the owners are present and visible on chat forums. That means a lot to me. With that said, are there any
A little holiday gift to the forum. One of the more common questions I see on the Internet and in person is “What makes a hacking watch different?” The explanation is when the crown is pulled out the second hand stops so the watch can be synchronized to another time source. Further talk usually leads to the description of the iconic movie scene of soldiers or pilots huddled with their leader and synchronizing their watches to his mark.Since one of my interests as a collector has been the American made movements that were used in the A-11 and FSS military watches, I have acquired examples from all four companies, Bulova, Elgin Hamilton and Waltham. I thought you might like to see the parts of each that actually do the legendary hacking.First up is the movement I’ve shown before in my thread on Waltham collecting. In the Waltham 6/0 movements the hacking lever runs across the center of the train and terminates in a flat paddle that brushes against the ends of the balanc
Whenever I see a post about water getting into a watch I always see people asking about the crown and whether or not is was screwed on and it has me thinking...How common is it to not screw the crown in? I always have mine screwed on. When I unscrew it to set I always immediately screw it back on. Does anyone not do this? Are the cases of not having the crown screwed on because it is common to leave it unscrewed unless it is needed (e.g. to swim) in order to save wear and tear? Or do some people somehow forget to screw in the crown after setting the watch?
just pull the trigger on yet another AP! Well, this is a special one in many people's hearts whether they are fortunate enough to own it or not... Can you guess? I'll give you a few hints:1) came out awhile back2) sickest AP ROO with an elegant yet stylish design and I think no ROO has been able to top it YET... (My own humble opinion of course)3) they are somewhat of a rare commodity these days!pictures to follow once I receive it... What a month it has been for me in terms of AP love! I think I'm done with AP collecting! =p
