Audemars Piguet Audemars Piguet 11158 wrist watches news:
It is nice to have your tastes validated, especially by people with such legendary priss a Swiss watch magazines. The magazine Montres Passion once again released the results of their annual Watch of the Year Award (2008) giving actual trophy awards to several watches in a few categories. However, the title of "watch of the year" and "best ladies' watch" were both awarded to Piaget watches. Both watches that I like a lot; the Piaget Altiplano Petit Seconds (aka the Piaget Altiplano Eccentric Small Seconds), and the ladies' Piaget Magic Hours. The criteria for the two watches was very different. Men's watches are judged based on style, mechanics, and practicality. While ladies' watches are judged based on use of materials, beauty, and uniqueness. For example, I don't think that any man's watch with a quartz movement would make it anywhere near "watch of the year" but that is ok for a ladies' watch.I wrote about the Piaget Altiplano Petit Seconds watch when it first came out a while ago.
I recently acquired this unusual variation of the Hamilton Meadowbrook, produced for the 37th Triennial Conclave of the Knights Templar in Detroit, Michigan in 1928.According to the Hamilton records, only 33 of the watches were produced, all in 14K white gold and all with 17-jewel grade 987 movements. These special order Masonic presentation watches were acquired from Hamilton through J.H. Garlick, a jeweler in Detroit. All of the printing on the dial is done in black enamel, which has been fired into the sterling silver surface of the dial. Even the red cross in the Knights Templar logo is enamel. This watch also has some features not seen on later examples of the Meadowbrook, namely a flared and wider center case body and recessed crown.

HelloThis is my first post on this forum and I would like some opinions regarding the polishing level of an Explorer.I am considering on purchasing an Explorer 1. The seller says that they have polished the watch but I am worried that it might be over polished. According to the pics that the seller has posted up, the reflections in the bezel seem to be skewed a little? I am not sure if this is normal or if its due to bad polishing.I would appreciate it if someone could provide some insight. Thank you in advance.
