Patek Philippe Creates Unique Ref. 3939 for Only Watch 2011
Patek Philippe collectors will want to keep an eye on Lot 30 at the Only Watch 2011 auction. This Ref. 3939 is a unique manually-wound minute repeater and tourbillon in a 33.3mm diameter stainless steel case with interchangeable solid and sapphire crystal case backs. The 28 jewel movement is Patek Philippe Caliber R TO 27 PS, stamped with the Patek Philippe Seal hallmark. Find the target price and wallpaper inside. The dial is black enamel with applied white gold Breguet numerals. The hands are also white gold in the Breguet style. Those huge multi-dialed watches
A question for all of the admirerers and wearers of the typical modern watch, and I am speaking of the multidialed monsters that are nearly as big as my palm .....As an artist I find them unattractive, and too busy to boot ! .....Now I understand a divers watch, or a pilots watch....they are useful for people who dive, or fly.....but I am betting that most wearers of those watches don't dive or fly....and are all multis divers watches.????So, my questions, actually I have 2 ......1) how many of you actually use all those dials? and 2) what on earth is is about them that you men like so much ????It escapes me, and perhaps someone can explain to me just what it is about them that makes them so popular ......oh and maybe throw up a photo to explain why you like this kind of watch ? Stainless Steel Diver off to Clearwater...
the crown has been acting a bit funny. It feels a little loosey goosey and when i turn it, maybe its an optical illusion but it doesnt seem as if the knob rotates evenly...talked to another TRF'er would had similar concerns and told me to send it in since it could affect it's water resistance (and hence, void warranty should damage happen since I didn't take care of it).My Steelie Diver has been a Daily Wearer since I bought it last year in May. It's seen a few knicks and dings on the rather large bezel. The question now: do I let it keep collecting knicks and bumps? or do I get a fresh bezel put on now that I know how to wear it without ever bumping into anything? (I feel as if any of the cosmetic blemishes I induced onto the bezel were within the first month...after that I got used to compensating for how much real estate my watch takes up when walking and doing daily things)third year warranty extension also being done while it's there. Can anyone give me info on Steel Audemars Piguet watches I like the Royal Oak Day Date, they seem rather expensive for a S/S watch and around the same price as a Steel Patek Philippe Aquanaut which I also like. Any opinion would be welcome on the 2 watchesRobert
