Baume & Mercier 8851 wrist watches news:
The first time that I wrote about Baume & Mercier's new for 2011 Capeland collection watches I was a bit irritated. The reason for that sentiment was the revival of the Capeland name in a thoroughly retro collection, whereas the original Capeland watches from about a decade or so ago were much more modern. In fact, these heritage style timepieces are modeled after watches from the late 1940s, not the late 1990s. I still feel a tender sense of nostalgia toward the original collection and would have preferred that Baume & Mercier use a different name for these watches but, aside from than that, I am stricken by the appeal of these new Capelands.Baume & Mercier will initially offer seven variations of this model. I am sure you can find them available already. The historic look of the watches is cleverly done with two different dial styles. One is a bit more classic with pomme hands and a snailed tachymeter scale. The other is a bit more to my taste with more mid-century-style?
Hi again,Although not strictly on the hunt for one right now, I'd like to know what's out there in the affordable moonphase range.I know 'affordable' is a relative term, but I don't want to say 'cheap' as that has bad connotations. Perhaps inexpensive is better, but is still a relative term. For example, WolfDog's Ball moonphase is beautiful, but not within my range.Let's say $500USD or below.Have at it, people - show me what you think the best moonphase for that price range is (or are, if you can suggest several).I'll kick it off with this Citizen Eco-Drive AP1024-56P. Not a current model, but still found at the 'bay for around $140-150, and I still really like the look of it:
Guys, I have recently ordered an Ebel watch that has the EBEL Caliber 304 movement...I have googled that, and have not been able to come up with any specifics about it...since EBEL does in fact manufacture some of their own movements, I was wondering if it was a totally inhouse job or a more common ETA modified movement.Does anyone have any knowledge of what the EBEL 304 movement really is???Thanx!!!
Curious if anyone can figure out what watch was shown on this week's episode of Psych, I thought some watch junkie would be able to recognize it. In the show, the bad dude of this episode (won't spoil it) was carrying a "$5,000 watch".The best shot I got was this-Anyone?
I'm looking into purchasing my first Panerai and was wondering what's the most iconic watch they make?
