Baume & Mercier M0A08869 wrist watches news:
There are indeed some otherworldly watches coming up for sale this auction season – including these four, and this one, and all these and these. But one watch that may have slipped past your radar is the watch you see here. It doesn't look like much, does it? It's a simple steel Patek Calatrava, but what sits inside – an automatic caliber – coupled with said steel case, is what makes it so special. This is the only known example of the Calatrava reference 2585 – or in other words, it's one of the absolute rarest self-winding watches on the planet. 1 OF 5 Yup, the reference 2585 dates to 1958 and it is the only vintage steel self-winding watch from Patek to house the beautiful caliber 12'''600. This caliber is one of Patek's greatest achievements – its first automatic as seen in the likes of the 2526 – and it has several special traits. Take a peek at one of Adam's (member GLADIATOR) watches:It's just one of many gorgeous vintage pieces in his collection. We met today and here's more pics of the pieces he brought stateside with him:.info/foru...957#post290957....
Show your Langley(s), guys. We don't see them at all over here, it seems, but I know they're out there...I just took my yellow one out for a stroll this evening. And here is the white one, which I hope to pick up at my watchmaker's tomorrow:
Does anyone have an insight into what Omega might be doing next? I was considering buying an SMP Chronograph Titanium but this is apparently discontinued (it's still shown on the Omega site). I have found one at an AD but if a coaxial is planned for later release I'd rather wait. Secret inside info will greatly appreciated!
Hey Guys , Trying to decide between the Smurf ( WG sub 116619LB ) or the WG GMT II ( 116719 BLRO) !For background I own SS white Daytona ( old non ceramic model ) and black SS sub ( 116610LN ).Anyway tried both on at AD and preferred the Smurf but the the AD said I should get the GMT seeing at I already owned a Sub and this would provide some variety to my collection. I have always drooled over the smurf so I kind of know the answer but wanted to hear the opinions of fellow fanatics. Thanks in advance for opinions.
