Info on Wittnauer man's watch request
I'll get a pic up soon, but I just needed some brief info on a recent antique fair find. I spotted a fairly nice looking man's 10kt gold filled round Wittnauer, automatic with center second. I balked on it and my 16 year old son decided to purchase it. I think he did very well on it. I'm unfamiliar with Wittnauers, and was trying to date it and get some general info for him. It has the following markings on the back - 10kt gold filled case, S&W, use all proof wrench, 1200. Is the "S&W" a case manufacturer name? Now, I gathered from the backside of the watch it was not a removable caseback but rather a front loader, and the 1200 is the name/model of the tool used to remove the crystal. I have a claw type crystal remover, but have never worked with it yet. I'm also unsure of how to remove the stem on this watch to remove the movement. Thank you for any assistance,Eric

HELP! Need quick advice on this TAG
Hi guys,I was browsing my local AD yesterday and came across this:I asked to see it and the sales woman told me it is 40% off because it is being discontinued. I like the watch and want to decide today because if I buy it today I get the free sunglasses (last day of the promo), sounds dumb, but I don't want to wait and get it without them. Their price is $3200 and with discount would bring it to: $1920.Two things holding me back:1. Can I do better than 40% off? Seems like there are a large mark up on TAG watches and I've seen it online from some sites for cheaper.2. It is an electro mechanical hybrid and I am not familiar with this type of watch, I originally had a straight mechanical in mind. How long do these last before a battery change? How reliable are they?Lastly, there are two models on the TAG website, CJF7111.BA0587 and CJF7111.BA0592 and I can't tell the difference, perhaps someone can shed some light?Thanks in advance.

So below is my Dad’s Date that I bought him for his 80th birthday. Had it engraved on the back from me. He passed away three years later and it was passed along back to me.I had it serviced just under 6 years ago at the RSC here in Japan. Quite expensive, complete overhaul and new clasp.Fast forward to today. I finally decided to change the white Arabic dial to blue Arabic. £¤42,000. Found out the price in a catalogue at an AD. It took me so long to finally decide to change the dial because you know it is my Dad’s watch and I didn’t want the RSC to take the white dial as they often do and not return it. I was assured by my buddy who works at a grey that they won’t take it. So I race down to the RSC today on lunch break with my Dad’s Date.Yes they will replace the white dial for blue and they will return the original white dial. £¤ 42,000.So far so good.
