This past November I had the rare opportunity to sit on the jury of the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève. For one day, myself and 22 other far-more-qualified watch lovers closely examined 71 watches in 14 categories, spanning the entire world of watchmaking from the $3,100 non-complication Tudor Black Bay to a woman’s tourbillion made by Bovet that retails for over $200,000. Of all the watches that I saw, one that really stood out to me was the Bell & Ross BR126 Sport Heritage Chronograph. Another "celebrity" Rolex sighting - but only if you're a fan of comic books or comic book inspired movies. John Romita, Jr. is considered Marvel Comics royalty. I was watching a video podcast regarding his role in the movie KICK A** and spotted what appears to be a black dial 16613 Submariner on his wrist. Very cool!

Why no pocket watches....
PP does not need any introduction to their most prestigious pocket watches.However i have not seen any posts on the lesser famous models. Is there any reason ?Are they not popular or collectible ?There should be many vintage models out there in the world.

Greetings from Georgia, USA.I am awaiting delivery on my 1st Rolex from my local AD due to additional links needed for my 9 inch wrists.Heretofore, I have worn nexpensive watches 24/7. I was smitten by the imposing presence of the ¡°Bluesy,¡± but am concerned about preserving its good looks.How can I minimize the damage associated with constant wear?

Stopped by my local AD this morning, they have very few stainless sport models
but tons of two tone and gold in stock.They had 3 stainless steel Subs, all of them black, one no date. They had 2 Daytonas, a gold with MOP dial and a two tone with white dial.I tried on a gold Yachtmaster with black rubber strap, a white gold Yachtmaster II, a rose gold Sky Dweller (MSRP of $48k) and a gold Day Date 40. I'm still smitten with the Day Date and this one had the diamond baguette number markers which I haven't seen before. MSRP on that was $39k though so it remains my dream watch at this point. I did snap a picture of it with my cell phone.
