Baume & Mercier 10008 wrist watches news:
This newcomer to the Historiques collection is inspired by a model created during the post-war years. Its pink gold 31.2 x 44. 55mm case embodies a complex construction. ¡°Aronde¡± is an Old French word for a swallow¡¯s wings, and it refers to the original double-rounded curve unfurling almost like wings along the case flanks. The opaline silvered dial is adorned with a fine hand-guilloch¨¦. Find pricing and wallpaper inside. This distinctive piece with a vintage spirit is powered by Calibre 1400 AS, a mechanical hand-wound movement, bearing the Hallmark of Geneva, developed and manufactured in-house by Vacheron Constantin. This piece has a style all its own, and it harks back to the days when a successful writer, artist, or other creative individual might express their position through the timepiece on their wrist. The USA retail price is $26,200.Technical data appears below the images, which may be enlarged with a click. I have an Omega Aqua Terra Co-Axil movement 2500 ,which was running about 12 seconds slow per day and then I took it to swatch group ,they kept it for 3 weeks and then returned it back ,and now I noticed its running 10 to 12 seconds fast . Can anyone help me what to do now ???
Hi everybody!I haven't posted in awhile, but the other day I had an experience I must tell you about. I was waiting for my flight at London Heathrow, and decided to see what the AD had in stock. The female rep was very knowledgable, and started with showing a SDDS they had received the same day. "It will be gone before we close", she said. The store had the usual layout with sport watches in one display, and gold/TT in another. When I browsed the gold display, I saw the familiar ice blue dial shimmer in the middle...I asked her about the price, and it was 27,000 sterling pounds tax free. "You must try it" she said, and took it out of the display. It was a cool feeling. It was very heavy and had a wonderful finish. If I was uncertain about my grail watch before, I am now absolutely sure that the platinum DDII is the one!
My Dad received this watch from his parents for an engagement present. He got engaged in November 1949. So it is most likely from somewhere between 1947 to 1049. Unless he is confused and it was actually a wedding present (1951) or even a high school graduation gift (41?). But he is pretty sure that it was an engagement gift.Does anyone know what it is?And what about the band. It says 14kt on the clasp. Was this a standard band back then or was this some kind of an upgrade at the time?I do know why he never wore the watch though (I plan to). It is a royal pain in the ass to do the clasp with one hand!!!!IMG_5302.jpgIMG_5298.jpgIMG_5307.jpg
