Revelation R-01 Tourbillon Watch
Here is something new. I just learned about Revelation watch and am rather impressed with some of the elements in this watch. When it will be ready I have no idea, but there are a few things neat about this piece. Most notable is the dial that goes from solid to clear. Meaning you can have a more traditional flat black dial with hour indicators, or one that is totally open with a view into the movement. Well, that is the basic idea at least.The Revelation R0-1 timepiece has a complex movement called the TM01 (which is reportedly in-house made). It is manually wound with 48 hours of power reserve and a tourbillon done a bit like the Cartier Astrotourbillon. Rather than rotating on its own axis, the large escapement moves around like a center fugue under the dial with a counterweight. Revelation calls it their "Tourbillon Menage." Hi. I would like to buy an Alpha watch for my father. He love the Rolex day-date look. I can't get him a Rolex, so i was looking at the Alpha day-date mother of pearl on E-Bay.Anybody have a reviews on that model or similar ??

Opinions on my first Panerai model...
So I've seen a lot of threads in the past regarding which Panerai one should start their collection with. Most commonly people refer to 47mm Panerai Luminor 1950. I get that this probably the closest to what is considered the classic Panerai piece.Please indulge me with the same question but with more specific criteria and your opinions. First off, I own the watches listed in my signature. I am looking for something different. This puts the Submersible or GMTs as being a redundant pieces for me and it also means I want nothing on a bracelet. When I think of Panerai I definitely want a leather strap. I am looking for something around 44 to 45mm, costing between 5-8k (obviously stainless steel), and would prefer hand wound as opposed to automatic. I am on the fence if I want to go Radiomir or Luminor. I know I could plug these criteria into the website and get a list of options but I am looking for expert opinions and reasons.
