Baume & Mercier 65394 wrist watches news:
Where can I get a bag like that? Tell me those are for sale. In a move that is about as opposite as it gets from the Swiss mentality to selling timepieces, KenmarWatcheswatches-dealer and affiliated WatchWearwatches-dealer is using a new type of sales tactic to bring you their deep discounts. ShopNBC's television network suddenly has some serious competition. Watch out Jim Skelton, you've got some competition. The "Unknown Watch Salesman" as KenmarWatches is labeling him, feels like a distant cousin of Jack, from Jack in the Box. Though instead of hawking bacon burgers, This masked crusader will be sharing with you America's greatest pastime - high pressure, high energy sales tactics. And this time it might go viral.Yea, it is funny, and it is supposed to be. Guys like us though, can sort of see right through sales presentations like this. Such as remarking on how the sale price of $99 is so much lower than the published $425 price on the watch box. We all know that MSRP prices on watc
Good day to all ...I'm usually to be found in "another place" but, whilst having the pleasure of dining with John Holbrook at the New York GTG last week, suavely persuasive fellow that he is, he introduced me to Watchtalk.I see some familiar faces have preceded me (Leo, Larry, Otto for starters) and, who knows, more may follow. Either way, it's nice to be here and I look forwarded to contributing from time to time. Here's JBHII with a couple of his new recruits in the foreground ...
The last time I tried to change a strap on a watch that had holes all the way through the lugs it was a big mistake. I thought it had a spring bar, and the holes were just an easy way to compress the spring. As it turns out, it was a press-fit pin with a collar, and I bent it beyond repair. I don't want to do make another mistake because of an assumption. Thanks!Oh, the question, in case it isn't obvious, is "How do you change the strap on a Seiko Monster - particularly a 2nd generation Monster?"
The balance wheel and hairspring assembly is the pendulum of a wrist watch - it regulates the entire mechanism. This is done through precisely measured back & forth rotations called oscillations. Most balance & hairspring assemblies turn anywhere from 270˚ to 315˚ if they are functioning properly, which is referred to as the movement's amplitude. When the balance wheel rotates in one direction it's called a vibration. Two complete vibrations in opposing directions equal one oscillation. The term beats per hour refers to how many vibrations the balance & hairspring assembly makes in 60 minutes. 18,000 b.p.h. equal 5 per second, which means the "sweep" function actually "ticks" 5 times per second....so fine you really have to study the motion very closely to see it. Higher b.p.h. rates can make a watch more accurate, but can shorten the lifespan of a movement due to increased potential for friction and require more frequent servicing.
I see so many different models! I am interested in an automatic w/date. Which should I choose?I noticed the MK40 am/pm which is very sharp, but does that am/pm act as a gmt? if so it might be the perfect watch!
