My new Omega
I just wanted to let everyone know that my SMP 2231 arrived on Friday March 13th (a lucky day for me). I was able to get the last one the AD had in stock.I'm thrilled with the watch, and have already received more compliments on this watch than any of my other watches. Personally I feel it looks better in person then in the pictures I've seen. I want to thank everyone that helped, by giving their thoughts during the decision making period. New 2254, and help picking a vintage Omega
Hello all:This is my first post, and I'm new to the forum. I'm clearing out some of my watches, and I'm going to buy my first Omega watch. I'm going to get the 2254, it's a great all around watch. However, I'm getting rid of a couple dress watches and think it would be cool to have a vintage omega watch. My question is this, I'd like a silver case with brown/neutral/white face. Would it be out of the question to find a classic looking piece in good shape for under $500? I've looked on the bay, but to be quite honest I know NOTHING about vintage Omega's. What would you all suggest?

Annual Calendar Help Me Decide
I am thinking ahead. Perhaps more towards the fall or end of the year--- In PP i have a PP 5712 steel, 5990 steel, 5164 steel. I realize from my overall collection I am missing a Calendar watch. So i have been looking through the PP options and would like any opinions or comments. I am not a dressy guy. I have a couple of dress watches and my daily work attire is casual (e.g. dockers or nice jeans and nice shirt). So i prefer the less formal pieces. So here are what is available and some of my comments. I am not even going into the various colors and sub models yet1) 5726 Nautilus -- I like but I will rule out right away because i have two Nautiluses now2) 5146- I really like having a PR indicator. I need to look in person again to see how easy it is to read the subdials. I am not sure i like the subdial approach to show the day and month. I know this is an iconic piece.
