I have a 1951 18ct longines and need some help with further info and a replacement glass. I have done extensive research and have not seen anything similar. The reference number in the case is 5185 if that helps at all. Any help would be much appreciated. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free

I received this earlier this week and just had to write this review. Love this one! Hope you enjoy.IntroductionDuring World War II a handful of watch manufactures - IWC, Laco, Stowa, A. Lange & S?hne & Wempe - designed and built watches specifically for the German Luftwaffe. Called Beobachtungs-Uhren (more commonly as B-Urh or translated as observers watch), these watches were all designed with some common traits: large in size - not for fashion, like today's watches, but for practicality and legibility - with sizes up to 55mm, large crowns so they could be set and used with gloves, they were fitted with hand wind pocket watch movements with indirect center seconds hand and stop seconds (hacking seconds hand), clean and legible dials with good luminescence, and were often attached to long straps to be worn over flight jackets. Although only a limited number of these watches were produced, the style remains popular with watch enthusiasts and a number of brands have made homages
Some of you may know, I buy a lot of watches at thrift stores. I'm bummed with this weeks find (sort of). I saw a Rolex box for $5.00 and thought it was just an empty box. It was not empty, but contained a fake submariner. Half the **** markers had fallen off the dial, and were floating around:) The thing seemed to be very well constructed otherwise, and is a great time keeper. I took it in to my watch guy and found that it is a very nice movement (eta 2892) I had him set the markers right. Anyway....I dont own a Rolex (nor want to) but this is a nice watch in every way. It's such a waste to put such a nice movement in a fake. So I'm wondering what would you do? Wear it? Try to find a different case for the movement? Just curious. Thanks,Justin
Went to visit a grey dealer that I just start having relationship with (bought BLNR from them). The usual suspects are on display hulk, sub nd & date, DS, SD, BLNR (still have 1 from 3 stocks previously). Daytona C hard to get boss lady said, was wearing mine so she¡¯s really jealous They¡¯re hoping to get the SS pepsi but she predicts will be really hard even for greys since the hype is really big.
