Review: Seiko 5 SNZH53 Diver in Blue
I mentioned it in my article about the Timex Andros, I hinted at my love of it in my initial impressions, Blake put it alongside a Rolex Submariner and now I want to get down to it; the Seiko 5 SNZH is sort of a perfect watch. If you could find any three watches in an old drawer.
Imagine you¡¯re dreaming about searching in an old barn. You find a desk and open the drawers. In the back of the last one is a sealed metal box and inside 3 vintage watches. If you close your eyes, which watches do you see? I don¡¯t necessarily mean your grail watches because to me a grail watch has a degree of attainability attached tom it. The watches I see are ones that I have no realistic hope of getting in my lifetime but would love to have fall into my lap by shear good fortune. For example:A 14K solid gold, engraved Hamilton Oval. Perfect dial. No wear.A Benrus Sky Chief with a pristeen brown dial the flawless crystal and a Valjoux 72 inside the case.An 18K solid gold, black dial, trench watch. Just received my Raketa 24 hour watch today- just something a little different.

(Newer) Omega Constellation Questions...
Seeing the 18th birthday Constellation present caught my attention. I had never seen this version of the Constellation before, really like it , and had some questions:1. I notice that the bezel has 2 claws across it. Can these be removed, and what are they for?2. The Constellation is very sharp looking, but I am not a fan of the Roman numeral bezel. Is there a replacement (smooth or regular number) bezel that can be fitted on the watch?3. When did this style first appear? Looking on the 'bay, it looks like there are similiar versions from the 1980's around.crombie
