Bedat & Co 828.040.600 wrist watches news:
I really do like this watch even if it does have a bit of the Swatch Group stench from it. Let me clarify, the Swatch Group does not stinkbut corporate culture when it comes to watch making does. "Make sure this watch doesn't compete with this watch!" "We must consider brand value!" Union Glashutte is a great German brand, but I am afraid that the Swiss overlords are keeping it from its full potential. I mean, you really can't even get the Union Glashutte watches in the US, crazy right? Well this Averin Chronograph is a nifty watch that uses the Valjoux 7751 automatic movement that I have always been a fan of (unless you don't like looking at tiny information windows). a cool watch with a nice style.See my Union Glashutte Averin Chronograph watch article on AskMenwatches-dealer here. One of my Co-Workers just came in with this. I've never seen one before. Anyone know anything about it. His dad passed away and he found it in with his things.
Can someone confirm whether rolex makes a white gold rolex wave pen? I've seen posting and articles about the yellow gold rolex wave pen but never a white gold one.
One thing I've been wondering for a while is the "nature" of watch face deterioration. When you see vintage watches, even NOS, a lot of the time the face will have paint deterioration, the hands look all tarnished, etc. If you buy a brand new watch today, will the advances in technology mean that in 50 to 100 years the watch (as long as it's kept well, and maybe just mechancially serviced once every 5 years) show the same deterioration? Thanks :)
I have a couple of watches I need to get work on. One is an Omega that needs a new crystal and to get cleaned. Another watch that just needs to be cleaned and a third that needs a new crystal and possibly some retouching of the luminos parts of the face. I am thinking about two different places and wondered if anyone was from the area and had any dealings with them. I'll also accept any suggestions. I am definitely trying to stay away from any place that needs to "send away" the watch to have it worked on.The two places I am considering is Govberg, apparently they do repairs upstairs from their store (this is just outside Philly), the other is Ed Christine Watchmaker in Allentown. I like Govberg cause it is right next to where I work, but I am leaning toward Ed Christine Watchmaker. Suggestions, opinions?
