It’s not too much to say that for us at HODINKEE, one of the highlights of the year is seeing new pieces from A. Lange & Söhne at the SIHH. Naturally, not everything is a home run, and if you go through our office everyone will have their own personal favorites (as well as watches they think weren’t entirely successful) but in general, right now, in fine watchmaking, we (and I) feel that A. Lange & Söhne is one of a very small handful of watchmaking companies really taking the necessary time, and putting in the necessary effort, to produce watches that absolutely deliver on the promise of craft and attention to detail that’s implicit in the phrase haute horlogerie.   1 OF 6 As I said, everyone has their own personal favorites; I’ve always had it pretty bad for the Richard Lange family of watches and the Richard Lange Jumping Seconds just pulled into the pole position. My first patek; and the journey that led me here.
I just realized i never did a proper incoming, please i hope you dont mind a long post.Story:It's been 3 years since i had an incoming last one was a watch my dad gave me and the first one was the Rolex submariner 114060.I was always happy with my rolex sub, i found my watch zen i said, then i read more about watches and had the guts to visit a patek boutique 2 years ago. i was so amazed at the quality of watches they offer. i read and read and appreciated the brand more. i said maybe if i focus on the goal of having a PP watch and not get distracted its possible.It was not easy but, Along the way i decided to buy my first patek and trying to avoid any impulse buy along the way was hard but i made it. had to save but at the same time prepare for my families future. was not born in a wealthy family and i had to work hard to be in my situation at present.I became a dad and my son is more than a year old now and he has taught me to be a better person, to be patient and loving, to not

Hello, First off, thanks for a terrific forum. I have been a reader for years and feel like I have received a free education from the countless members who have shared their stories, expertise, and passion the brand. After years of dating the wrong watches I finally decided to settle down with the brand that I have always admired. I just got the call on the new SD 43 and before I pull off the stickers off I wanted to get some opinions on size. I have a 6.75 wrist and am about 6' tall. Big but lean, I guess? I wanted an everyday piece that would suit my lifestyle - lots of travel, snorkeling, swimming, paddle-boarding, and generally active stuff. I am not quite onboard with a sub or SD4K yet and so it came down to the SD43 or BLNR. (I know, very different beasts but those are the two that spoke to me) This would be an everyday piece and I spend most of my days in jeans or shorts and seldom wear a suit. So could you weigh in once more for the new guy? At first blush it feels a bit chu
