Tomorrow, June 8th, marks my one year anniversary as the Omega moderator here at WTF. Can you believe it? It's been a fun time and I hope it remains that way. I've been part tour guide, a pinch advice columnist, a cup of vintage knowledge, along with a generous helping of eBay policing in PMs. First I want to say thanks to John and the Admins who recommended me. Second I want to say thanks to Terry (diver88) for the time we partnered here - I got a great education on spotting fake SMPs and modding in general. And of course thanks to my newest partner Steph (diamondgirl). Always good to have a certified Omega ambassador on board, and a woman's opinion too. I'm looking forward to another year of fun here. ps - I'll have a special Project Watch Club "before" post in the GDF to mark this occasion.

Waltham Ladies' Watches
I am glad to see some ladies' watches being posted. As I may have mentioned, my wristwatch interests include Waltham's ladies watches, primarily from the dawn of American wristwatches ('teens and 'twenties). I have had this 1921 advertisement in my collection for quite a while. I love the technical details they included to educate (and impress) the consumer.1921_Marsh by JTreiman, on FlickrIn 1923 the movement used in the watch illustrated sold for $170 that is just for the movement. This is a 5-1/4 ligne rectangular movement (mistakenly described as 7-1/2 ligne) and was one of Waltham's finest. Note the gold jewel settings and gear train. What to do with unwanted, old, cheap watches?
What do you guys do with the older, cheaper watches that you bought/wore before you became obsessed?I have a few Wenger Swiss, a Skagen, a Citizen quartz, and some others that I no longer wear or are interested in. These aren't really worth much...$30 or so, so I'm not thrilled about taking the time to list them on eBay or Craigslist. I'd like to clear out room in my box - should I take them to a pawn shop?
