Porsche Design 6613.10.50.1145 wrist watches news:
While at Baselworld 2012, I had an interesting idea. It wasn¡¯t totally unique, and I certainly didn¡¯t come up with it originally. I did however stumble upon a solution for a huge problem with the watch industry and a great way to solve it. Something that to my knowledge isn¡¯t really being done with any seriousness today. It has to do with getting more people to wear and want watches, and how to approach a post need-based watch economy.By ¡°post need-based¡± I mean that technically speaking, people no longer must wear watches to tell the time. People most certainly still need to know the time, but there are simply other options (perhaps not as convenient) in addition to a wrist watch that will tell you the time. This wasn¡¯t always the case. It used to be that if you wanted to tell the time, you either needed to own a wrist watch, or remain within very close proximity to a clock. And carrying around a grandfather clock in a Radio Flyer wagon behind you wasn¡¯t very practical. Essentially, e
I just got my new toy finally, a Linde Werdelin Oktopus SS DLC, I apologize for the quick and dirty pics. It's actually very comfortable on the wrist and that finish is just awesome. This is actually my first dlc Freaky..;)
So I noticed today that the rubber insert on the crown is a hexagon. If at the right angle, the top and bottom (if you look at the case from the side) of the hexagon can clear the crown protectors perfectly. If you turn the crown 45 degree more, then the pointy parts of the hexagon are kind of squeezed by the crown protector (even though I see that they added some clearance for this). Do you guys turn the crown until it is flat on both sides of the crown protector or let the pointy part of the rubber insert squeeze against the crown protector?
Had a 45.5 mm PO and loves the thickness of the case. Fit very well on my 7 inch wrists. I am looking to buy a 42mm 8500 PO quite soon, but I never actually held the watch in person or have even seen it in person. The closest dealer to me is about 2 and a half hours from me and I just have not had the time to reach out to them yet. (Omega Boutique). Now I am hearing that the new 8500 has a thicker case profile, which I can spot immediately in pictures. But how much thicker? Any comparison shots would be outstandingly appreciated!
Sadly my 5127R has developed the sticking date issue. The watch just turned 2 years (warranty expired 2 months ago since I purchased it from an AD). However, I have worn the watch only occasionally. Very frustrating. Anyone else with this experience?
