Gucci Launches New Watch for 2013 Grammy Awards
The 55th Annual Grammy Awards will take place this weekend in Los Angeles, and for the third year in a row, Gucci Timepieces & Jewelry will release a new, Grammy-branded wristwatch to coincide with the music industry’s biggest night. In 2010, Gucci launched its Grammy Special Edition watch collection as part of a three-year partnership with The Recording Academy, organizers of the Grammys. The latest edition to the collection is a timepiece whose design offers a variation on Gucci’s interlocking “Double G” motif, which is incorporated into the bezel. There are two models, each with stainless-steel cases that measure 42 mm in diameter. One has a sun-brushed finish and a black dial; the other has a black PVD finish and a dark yellow dial. The minimalist dials ¡ª with the ¡®Gucci¡¯ logo at 12 o’clock ¡ª are enlivened by circular-grained surfaces that recall the grooves on a vinyl record. And I have to admit that the choice for the Day-Date was not to bad.First time it was shown in a german pricelist was in 1978 (2300,- DM)Long live the Oysterquartz
