Generic Jewelers Cases............
This may have already been covered at some point but, if so, I am going to ask again. Why would a jeweler have housed a Hamilton movement in a third party, non-model specific case? I could maybe see if it were a Tiffany or high end case with jewel faceting or something. I could also see if an original case became damaged and the owner wanted to re-house the movement in a new case. But, I recently purchased a Hamilton movement in a generic 10YGF case, basically for the movement, as the auction went low. (The case has turned out to be in phenomenal, lightly worn shape.) The dial is stamped Hamilton Movement, but, it just seems like a great length to go when a jeweler could sell the complete branded piece with the accompanying advertising and prestige that would have accompanied it.Tell me what part of the story I am missing. so this just happened..
Went to my AD to pick up a 5167 they just received, but walked out getting a 5146. It kind of just sang to me, but the wife is going to kill me. Was this a good decision?
