Breitling A20048 wrist watches news:
Bell & Ross was one of the original companies to offer an all-black watch. The BR-01 Phantom was offered as a limited edition of 500 pieces of the basic model and 500 of the chronograph. The Phantom attracted a lot of attention and both models sold out faster then any other color BRs offered by the manufacturer. The BR-03 Phantom picks up where its BR-01 big brother left off. It has a limited production run of 500 pieces per year, and promises to be quite a popular watch. We still have not been able to have one of theses watches in our showcases. Each one we received had been ordered in advance. It is easy to see why. The Phantom dial is striking. The dial on the BR-03 92 Phantom is surprisingly easy to read. The painted hour markers are thick and wide, therefore raised over the dial. They consist of a healthy dose of black photo-luminescent paint, which makes the watch even easier to read when the lights are turned off. I have found in similar watches from other companies that the
WTF member and Hamilton expert Coronado sold a white Cambridge on his website within hours of listing it on his website. Two examples of a rare model selling in the same week doesn't happen too often. I've still got time to make it three!Nah.
I have a few stupid questions about this maker. Is this an in-hose maker? Every time I read about AP or PP movements I eventually find some reference to JLC, for example the AP2140 is apparently derived from the JLC960R and that's apparently comes from the JLC889 and that's just one of many examples. However in most forums and elsewhere there are always very few references to JLC itself as if it was not very well regarded by WIS. Is there any reason for that? Also most watches from JLC seem to be quite a bargain if compared with the similar PP or AP using derived calibers, is it just that they are not as overpriced or is there any quality shortcut in the production? From the few pictures both of the watches and the movements I cannot see anything but I might very well overlook something.GLF
Ok guys, I figured out the weight descrepency between the 44mm RG and Pt pieces!I weighed my watch with the leather strap on, 245.4 grams. Took leather off to throw the white rubber on for a fun day out and about. While apart, I decided to throw the straps on the scale... The leather strap weighed 12.6 grams. Then, I weighed my rubber strap, 34 grams, 21.6 grams more! The newer RG 26401 cases are slightly lighter, and said to be around 220-225 grams, and of course they come WITH the rubber strap. So, the Pt with the rubber weighs about 267 grams, or about 20% more.
It's not his quite yet, but never too soon to try on!
