Bell & Ross Aviation type Carbon fiber case- Chronograph Limited Edition

Value of 3940 vs 5140
Looking for my 2nd Patek. I've seen several 3940 under 50k used, and one New Old Stock about the same. The 3940 replacement, 5140 is priced almost 90k. Is the new model really worth the difference? Even with all the recent price increases from Patek I'm haveing trouble grasping this much of a price spread. Any opinions?

New to this forum - looking for some opinions
Hi all, i am a new member but have been a frequent reader for quite some time. Lots of knowledge in here!I am looking for your advice on buying my first really quality watck. I am planning to spend approx. 5000 USD and i am looking for something classy and classical, (i think). I have had my eyes on the Breitling Navitimer for quite some time, but recently i have started to really like a few of the IWCs as well. I really do not have to spend as much as five grand for a watch, and i would be happy to recieve your comments and ideas. I also like the Tag Heuer Carrerra...One thing is the watch itself, another what you are signalling by owning exactly that one...Go debate!

Oooops, I did it again!!!!
Some time in late September, I decided to step out of my Panerai and Rolex shell and go for a sporty Patek. I was fortunate to have all the fellow Patek owners here who gave some very valuable inputs. In came this beauty:She was stunning and the blue dial, absolutely mesmerizing. The 5711 was like a piece of art that is ready for the Guggenheim museum. On the other hand, it was also dressy, classy and just Pierce Brosnan like cool! However, I am no Pierce Brosnan. I am mostly a jean and t-shirt guy and according to my wife, goofy. The thinner 5711 case along with the sharp and dressy feel and I just did not jive. 5711 maybe perfect for most, unfortunately, it was not for me. 5167 is also out of the picture since the case is about the same thickness as the 5711 and a tad too thin for my taste. Thus, the choice was simple. I wanted a rubber sporty look in a slightly thicker case and 5164 has it all. For me, this is the perfect blend of form, vs. functionality, a sporty kick a

Mystery white dial
Lots of posts on the magic of the blue dial Nautilus, and how the light transforms it. Let me put in a good word for the white dial as well, it really does change a lot as well depending on the ligthing. Sometimes it looks pure white, other times more creamy. And last night, sitting and enjoying a cognac, it looks almost pure steely.
