Bell & Ross BRV 123 Heritage wrist watches news:
Hey guys!I ordered my copy of "American Wristwatches, Five Decades of Style & Design" a few days ago and it arrived about 30 minutes ago. I was VERY excited to see what it had to say so I opened it at once. After about 15 minutes I became VERY disappointed! I found no less than five major mistakes within the Elgin military watches alone! Wrong dates that the dials were available, wrong hands, wrong movement jewel counts that were available that year in certain grades and so on! I paid $50.00 for this book and I was really looking forward to expanding my knowledge on other brands and styles, now I own a $50.00 doorstop! I am VERY reluctant to study this book further as I do not want to learn any incorrect information! I do NOT claim to be the end all, be all when it comes to WWI era Elgin military watches by any means but I know that the book is wrong!!!!!! Sorry for my rant but how difficult is it to check your facts before you publish a book?!?!?!
well guys it's been sometime since I have had something "incoming" I'm torn on a decision right now, here are the two pics of both watches I'm intrested in purchasing, since I didn't get a watch for my birthday, and I highly doubt I will get one for my "aniversary" I'm left to be on my own, and buy my own gift. Both are larger style divers which I really enjoy wearing, what do you guys think?
Saturday I went to see An Evening with Jerry Lewis. At 83, you have to give him credit for doing a 2 hour show with jokes and singing. I've always loved his films and jkMDA work. I got the chance to meet him and it was a blast. Picture having him scream your name out loud "Hi MO!" It was crazy. He was very nice and I told him how my parents saw him and Dean fifty years ago at the Copa. I have noticed that he's worn the same watch for over 40 plus years. A rectangular gold watch. I asked him what it was and he told me without missing a beat:"It's a Boucheron. I had it specially made in Switzerland. It has two faces on it."The amazing thing to me was I was right. He knew exactly what I was talking about. Even his conductor was amazed at my question. It was awesome. Here's some pics of him wearing it. Unfortunately, I don't have a pic with him. God Bless His Soul.
I currently have a lower end Tag and am wanting to upgrade in watches but know nothing about them. I want something along the lines of an Omega Seamaster or Rolex Submarinar. Are there other quality watches that have this look. Price is a consideration with the Rolex being on the outer edge.I have sent my tag in twice for reparirs underwaranty so far so I am kind of disapointed in Tag's quality.Any help steering me in the right direction would be appreciated.Thanks.
I finally got another Seamaster and couldn't be happier with this model! No regrets going with 45mm and rubber strap. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1366479213.079515.jpg
