Still undecided... Sub or GMT
Hello,I am a little closer to my first Rolex purchase, but I am still undecided between the SS Sub and SS GMT IIc. I am generally a Submariner guy, because I love the simple-classic look. However, I do like the improvements on the GMT�� Especially the new clasp. One problem is that I have not seen the SS GMT in person, so I haven��t been able to do a side-by-side comparison with the Sub. So here is my plan: Please let me know what you think��I��m going to give the AD a down payment so I can get the current price. I��ll wait for a SS GMT and then do the comparison with the SS Sub. I'll decide on one, and then wait for Basel to see if there is a new Sub. If there is, I��ll hold off for the new Submariner. All comments are welcome.Thanks,Domenic

I think I showed off this watch some time back. This is one I got on Ebay, with a nonrunning Elgin 770 23j Durabalance movement. I swapped in an idnentical, but working movement I'd previously bought. This was the first time I'd switched a dial, hands, and a stem. I was pretty impressed with myself.But what to do with the nonrunner?Well, I've been playing at watchmaking. It turned out the reason the reason the movement wasn't running was that the roller jewel was missing. I swapped in the balance from ANOTHER nonrunning Elgin 770, and it worked. At least, it ran a bit. I was very pleased.As I mentioned on the 'Project Watch' thread, I wanted to practice doing COAs on some spare movements before I tried to tackle the one in my project. Today I put one of the 770s back together. I had to put the mainspring in the barrel a couple times. First I put it in backwards. Then I missed getting the hook in the right place on the barrel wall. Then it took FOREVER to get the barrel arbo

Opinion on 2 G-Shock's
I was wondering if anyone has either or both the GW3000b-1a or GW3000bd-1a? Any positives or negatives? I tend to lean towards the bd because of the metal band, but i dont know that the metal band is worth an extra $100?? thoughts???
