Seiko SGEF61 wrist watches news:
Please welcome Mr. ?lker ?zcan who will collaborate with aBlogtoReadwatches-dealer on a few articles discussing materials and processes used in watch cases and other components. Ozcan is a professional Materials Engineer and owns a small R&D company (ndsgnwatches-dealer) - and he loves mechanical watches and loves the exotic materials used in those watches. The purpose of this article series is to enlighten watch lovers about many aspects of watch materials so that everyone can make more educated decisions about the watches they are buying. Now on to Mr. Ozcan:In this first article I have chosen to start with Titanium. Titanium has recently become very popular in high-end watches, and it is not without reason. For me, titanium is the best overall engineering metal ever! Is it however the best material for a watch case? Let¡¯s take a look...We engineers measure many properties to evaluate materials. Probably more types of properties than you have heard of if you are not a materials e
For those that follow the Farmers' Almanac, or those just interested in Full Moon names, January is the month of the Full Wolf Moon. For myself, in the EST zone, the Full Moon will be at its' apex at 22:27 EST [10:27 pm] tonight. Here's what it says about the meaning behind the January Wolf Moon, taken from the Farmers' Almanac...Full Wolf Moon - January: Amid the cold and deep snows of midwinter, the wolf packs howled hungrily outside Indian villages. Thus, the name for January's full Moon. Sometimes it was also referred to as the Old Moon, or the Moon After Yule. Some called it the Full Snow Moon, but most tribes applied that name to the next Moon. The time often used by world astronomers and observatories, for a Full Moon or phases, is more often seen as UTC, UST, GMT [Greenwich] or ZULU [military] Time. That time this month is as follows, as taken from the U.S. Naval ObservatoryAstronomical Applications Department - Phases of the Moon:2009 Phases of the MoonUniversal TimeFull MoonJan 1
faithful old pal for me all day, work and home
A question for all of the admirerers and wearers of the typical modern watch, and I am speaking of the multidialed monsters that are nearly as big as my palm .....As an artist I find them unattractive, and too busy to boot ! .....Now I understand a divers watch, or a pilots watch....they are useful for people who dive, or fly.....but I am betting that most wearers of those watches don't dive or fly....and are all multis divers watches.????So, my questions, actually I have 2 ......1) how many of you actually use all those dials? and 2) what on earth is is about them that you men like so much ????It escapes me, and perhaps someone can explain to me just what it is about them that makes them so popular ......oh and maybe throw up a photo to explain why you like this kind of watch ? Thanks !
Does the Aqua Terra in 38.5 (Blue) have the Si14 addition in it? I don't see any mention of it regarding it's movement.
