Bell & Ross Bell & Ross 16401 wrist watches news:
Well last September I sent in my old Seamaster 120m (quartz movement) to Timetech in Dallas for refurbishment. Well after 8+ months I finally got it back. They did a nice job ..but too slow and probably a little expensive ($400), but they did replace the gold crown cap. Before Pics:After Pics:
Hey guys,I've had my Omega for almost 4 years now and have not had 1 problem with it. I'm just wondering if there is anything that needs to be done to it. I've been told that the lubricants inside need to be checked occasionally. I do not wear it every day, maybe once or twice a week. Any info is appreciated. Thanks,Chuck
In honor of our new member, HamiltonElectric, here are some tidbits upon which he may comment. . ."The 500 series watch had a moving coil and contact control system. The coil is fixed on the balance, and an electric current flows in the magnetic field, producing an electromagnetic force. At the moment the magnetic field reached the right and left side of the coil, the contact spring is closed by a small pin on the balance. Thus, electric current through the coil is receive an impulse. . . The basic principle is the same for electric motors."Source: Collecting Watches by Shugart and Hanson
Overstock has many watches on eBay for sale. What irks me is they ship worldwide but excludes Alaska and Hawaii. I guess they can ship to China but not to Hawaii? Then I came across an interesting watch under vintage Seikosha and the seller from India also ships world wide but also excludes Alaska and Hawaii
I know very little about Omegas but have recently had an urge to find out more about vintage Seamasters. Have seen some real beauties for sale on Ebay, but rather expensive unfortunately.....Can someone recommend any informative websites or forums about vintage Omegas? Many thanks,Denny
