Latest Project - Gruen Pan Am
Since it's gone so quiet in here, I'll post my latest project arrival (Vendor's photos) - even though it is a work in progress, and you will see many many things wrong. All three hands are wrong. It is is very old redial, the case is a little worn on the lug tips, and the hairspring is kinda funky.Cleaned up the dial and case. Being an older redial, not sure if this dial is worth keeping - but it did clean up enough to be usable - it'll look OK with crystal and hands in place.Likewise, case has its shortcomings, but 200% better than when it arrived.Currently servicing the movement...

Went to see my watchmaker to pick up my new/old IWC. It's a calibre 89, which Sam tells me is quite a nice movement and one of IWC's best from that time period. I'll take his word for it because I know nothing of the brand. He threw in a brand new grey lizard strap - I like the almost monochromatic look.Okay, I snapped a couple pictures of the other two watches I mentioned. Here's the Bucherer rose gold (with nearly an ounce of gold in the case) chronograph with the Frederic Piguet mecaquartz movement. Here's a shot of the Baume & Mercier chronograph. These are two sweet watches, and I really took a long look at both of the ones I didn't buy. I must be learning self restraint. Anyway, I'm sure I'll be wearing the IWC to work this weekend!

Omgea Dealers keeping quiet
Just been to Bluewater to look at the new PO Titanium and all the dealers now no longer stock Omega, of the four jewellers that used to be AD'S none of themnow stock Omega's. What was funny is that not one of them told me that was because an Omega boutique had opened and where it was, all any of them said was they had stopped selling Omega's. Looks like Omega has pi**ed off all it's old AD's, lets see if the new boutiques work or whether they will have to go back to AD's.
