New vintage Hamilton
Hi im Joe I'm new to the forums. Ive been collecting watches my whole life. I have a special fondeness to vintage Hamiltons. I thoguht i would share my newest Hamilton. Im not sure what model it is though. it is a 10kgf with a 736 movemnt. the dial on it is quite nice.

When is a Waltham not a Waltham?
Pocket watch collectors often feel that we're immune from outright fake watches as the modern wristwatch collector must deal with. For common American railroad watches and the like, this is largely true(save for reproduction dials, recases, and made-up rarities, which are a totally separate issue). For the early American collector, however, one must be constantly mindful of fakes. There were hundreds of Swiss makers who built watches very similar in appearance to Waltham 1857 model watches. Many of these are fairly poor reproductions, and are often marked with American-sounding names that can't be associated with any particular watch company. These are easy to spot with a little bit of practice, as there are a number of tell-tales. Occasionally, however, so-called Swiss Fakes turn up that can be quite convincing. Today while wondering around I walked into one of the many watch stores and struck a deal on what I have found out is a very rare Audemars Piaget Royal Oak 25920 Anual Calendar. I used to think the watches were ugly and for rappers as it is the only depiction I've seen of them but a friend who is an aficionado has shown me his 15202. It made me think very differently about the brand but the idea was shelved for lack of availability in my home town and just being busy with other things. While bumming around I almost buy a Seiko Credor skeleton dialed watch in platinum but temporarily passed in hopes of going back for a better deal after they thought about it. That's when I walked in and saw this, it reminds me of a blue dial omega Speedmaster I have but the white index markers and hands remind me of the Nautlus I want but can't afford. At first I was concerned about the size but it is the only one that would fit under my cuff, which is very important to me given how tempramental these w
