Blancpain 2360-2991a-55 (non deployant) wrist watches news:
John Cote is a professional photographer and watch collector living in Indianapolis, Indiana. HODINKEE welcomes his insights on the world of American pocket watches. – NM What should a wristwatch nerd know about American pocket watches and the industry that made them? In my opinion, from the late 1850s until just after WWII, the American watch industry produced more and probably better portable timekeeping machines than the rest of the world combined.I said portable timekeeping machines instead of watches, because during the same time the Swiss produced a lot of fabulous and technically amazing watches. The American watch industry primarily produced time-only watches while the Swiss made these, and also a lot of exquisitely complicated watches. What drove the American watch industry was the idea of producing tool watches for the masses. The founders of the industry were starting from scratch and they wanted to produce quality timepieces that the common man could afford. Ea
Hello my name is Christian and I'm from Holland so sorry for my bad English! I've got the Hamilton Jazzmaster Auto Chrono H32616553I like to know if there is a possibility to let the chrono dials stay at the begin (12 O''clock) position. Now the 3 dials (needles) from the chronograph are constant moving.I can reset them to the top position but when a minute has past the top dial is moving one minute to the right again. So is it possible to let the 3 chronograph dials(pointers) point at 12 o clock CONSTANTLY? Thank you for your answer!greetings,Christian de Bruin
It was with immense pleasure that I attended the IWC Open Day at Berry's Jewellers in Nottingham a few weeks back.It was a special experience enough to be able to talk with IWC's UK representative and try on some seriously high end timepieces, that I could never even start dreaming about owning. But, I also got to chat with Kurt Klaus: The retired watchmaker from IWC who gave them over 50 years of service and their wonderful perpetual calendar, which gives the correct date to the year 2199 and is all operated and set up from the crown. He was a truly humble down to earth person and seemed genuinely touched when I said it was an honour to meet him. He candidly talked about his perpetual calendar movements and his other acheivement at IWC. He also answered my probing questions about how he started in watchmaking, how he came to work at IWC and what he thought his greatest acheivement as a watchmaker was. He then indulged me by signing my new 2010/2011 catalogue on the page highlighting t

Looking to buy a Broad Arrow, this one to be exact. I can't find any AD's in my area with it in stock, and of course if they order it they don't want to discount it. Any recommendations on good grey market dealers or AD's? Called alanfurman and they said $3600 and that the watch would come with the warranty card from the AD they purchased from so the Omega warranty would be valid. Is this true? Is this a good price for this watch? Thanks for any help, I've been buying Rolex's lately and am a little out of touch on the Omega's.
